What is the Trial Balance?

Learn how to read a trial balance with these resources.

The Trial Balance is a list of all the ledger accounts and their balances.

These can be either debit or credit.

The double entry system ensures that debits and credits are equal for each journal. So if they are entered correctly the total of debits equals the total of credits for ledger accounts.
